Accounting/Finance

Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis

  The Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis is primarily responsible for planning, reporting and analyzing the company's financial position from both a financial and operational perspective. This position is an individual contributor role and reports directly to the Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the company’s financial planning process including calendar development, financial model development, ensuring adherence to deadlines, consolidation, reporting and analysis.
  • Manage the company’s forecasting and tracking process for revenue, capital expenditures, expenses and business metrics.
  • Manage and develop the company’s management reporting processes, including monthly results, quarterly BOD reporting, dashboards, etc.
  • Develop models to provide a thorough analysis of the drivers of unit cost.
  • Develop various financial and capacity models for product/business lines.
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions.
  • Create financial models to assess business plans, business development opportunities, and other special projects as required.
  • Maintain the company’s internal pricing models.
  • Perform product-line profitability analysis.
  • Perform analysis of the company’s performance, including coordinating with department managers for the review of their P&L.
  • Perform analysis to identify trends and issues impacting the business.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance from a leading university.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in a similar Finance/Accounting position.
  • CPA, CMA, or other equivalent certification strongly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of both US and Canadian GAAP strongly preferred.
  • Must have experience in multinational organization and be exposed to related issues such as multiple currencies and transfer pricing concepts.
  • Good knowledge of balance sheet, cash flow preparation and projection.
  • Good knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics accounting software helpful.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Knowledge of advanced accounting and finance concepts and analysis techniques, and the ability to apply them in a broad business area and be able to independently define and drive analytical projects to completion.
  • Work requires professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

Sr. Financial Analyst – Planning and Analysis

  The Sr. Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for analyzing and understanding the results of the company both from a financial and operational perspective. The Sr. Financial Analyst reports directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare dashboards for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments
  • Manage the company’s forecasting and tracking process for revenue projections, budgets, capital expenditures, expense forecasting, and business metrics
  • Develop models to provide a thorough analysis of the drivers of unit cost
  • Develop various financial and capacity models for product lines, costs centers and/or other business units
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and rolling 4-quarter forecasts
  • Prepare customized financial analysis, analytical reporting, and forecasts
  • Prepare a monthly analysis of operating results vs. last year and the budget. This evaluation of operating data will be based on discussions with each division
  • Prepare financial analysis for contract negotiations and product investment decisions
  • Create financial model to assess business plans, development opportunities, and other special projects
  • Evaluates and prepares written analysis based upon the results
  • Perform analysis of the company’s internal pricing model, including the policy and analysis of pricing agreement across companies (labs) in various countries
  • Perform product-line profitability analysis
  • Perform analysis of the company’s performance, including coordinating with department managers for the review of their P&L

Supply Chain/Purchasing Manager

  Conducts and manages supply chain activities. Responsible for placement of all purchase orders for both inventoried and non-inventoried materials and services and engineering needs. Responsible for setting strategic supply chain direction, establishing a reliable supply source and managing the replenishment process to achieve inventory levels goal and on time delivery. Implement appropriate controls working in conjunction with Accounting, Finance, Operations and satellite operations.

Work Performed:

  • Develops and implements supply chain policies, including leveraging purchasing power of DTI Network to achieve exclusive purchasing contracts at favorable prices
  • Develops a Lean supply chain with minimal lead times
  • Develops cost reduction programs to reach targets
  • Ensures supply chain compliance with financial control policies and procedures
  • Develops supply chain objectives, strategies, tactics and budgets to support materials and operational objectives and plans
  • Provides direction to and performance review of supply chain staff
  • Maintains supply chain metrics indicating performance vs. goals
  • In conjunction with quality department, monitors supplier performance and takes action to improve or remove suppliers not meeting company needs
  • In conjunction with quality and operations and satellite labs, evaluates new suppliers to augment or replace existing suppliers
  • Conducts and manages supplier contract negotiation and purchase order placement to fulfill goals for cost, inventory, lead-time, and supplier management

Experience Required:

At least 10 years purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing of supplies and materials.  Hands-on MRP and purchasing experience with an ability to lead strategic initiatives.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of professional purchasing standards and ethics, standard contract terms and conditions
  • Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures used.  Familiar with MRP and JIT, Visual and Lean methods of planning and controlling materials
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes including kanbans and reverse logistics
  • Excellent supplier communication and contract negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage and supervise purchasing professionals
  • Ability to interface effectively with other functional managers in the division
  • Ability to work across divisions, understand diverse opinions, perspectives and needs
  • Ability to sell new ideas or ways of doing things to internal customers
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed environment
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and have demonstrated track record of exercising sound business judgment
  • Knowledge of dental products would be a plus

Education Required:

  • BS/BA required

Corporate Controller

 

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will own the establishment and maintenance of the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives to produce accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP. The position will manage the accounting function, including periodic financial statement closes, financial analysis, audit preparation, and implementation and maintenance of strong internal controls.

Functional Responsibility

  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and year-end close process, including preparation of internal/external consolidated financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Ensure that finance staff maintains financial records and systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls
  • Proactively lead all aspects of technical accounting including monitoring and ensuring timely identification of and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, providing GAAP interpretation, and documenting issues appropriately. Research technical accounting matters as they arise and determine accounting treatment for complex transactions based on such research. Consult outside audit firm and tax professionals as necessary
  • Liaison with tax group to provide all information required for tax provisions and tax returns
  • Responsible for compliance reporting and management of compliance audits– sales and use tax, property tax, business tax, etc.
  • Coordinate all financial statement audit activities and engage with outside audit firm in the successful completion of annual audits
  • Working with Human Resources responsible for stock-based compensation accounting and reporting
  • Support the CFO with various analyses and ad hoc projects, including the preparation of quarterly board of director and audit committee presentations.
  • Ensure the efficient and effective operation of Company’s systems of internal financial and disclosure controls.  Lead the development and implementation of SOX-compliant systems, processes, reports and controls to meet the Company’s evolving business models. Document all critical accounting policies and estimates
  • Responsible for merger and acquisition accounting and coordinating integration of accounting information and systems
  • Develop and maintain working relationships across Financial Planning and Analysis, Treasury Management, Legal, IT, HR, and other organizations

Management Responsibilities:

  • Internal: Communicates with other accounting staff and departments/divisions in dealing with accounting-related issues and other related procedures
  • External: Communicates with auditors, tax preparers, and vendors, in regard to accounting issues
  • Supervision: Reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer; 4 direct reports currently

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • CPA Certification required
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of accounting and finance experience, with increasing levels of responsibilities. Experience in publicly traded company strongly preferred.  Demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, and reporting
  • Thorough knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong systems and Excel skills required
  • Time management and organizational skills essential
  • Strong analytical skills and communication skills
